day two: photo 101: street scene

empty stBleak day, waiting for the ice-rain-snow to start, again.  West Chester PA is a small university town. It is an old town, my house was built in 1886. The streets were built for horse and carriage, not horse-less carriages. Parking – I think the photo can say it better than words. Click on the photo to enlarge and to see details, old-fashioned “gas lights”, street brined with salt from last storm, snow turned to ice around the cars.  The two empty spaces have handicapped signs – to me this indicates an actual resident vs a student lives somewhere on the block. Until recent years the houses were all private residences, now most rent to students.
